We’re adding something new to this year’s holiday season — The Peekskill Makes Me Merry Holiday Stroll — to bring more shoppers and visitors into the downtown and to promote some of our local artists’ works as great gift ideas.  Be part of the holiday spirit!  Our volunteer committee is organizing the “Art in Business” portion of the stroll with the full support of the BID. Evelyn Lee from the Evolution Gallery and Sue Sheridan from the Quiet Man are spearheading this effort.

The Stroll will happen on the same day as the Holiday Tree Lighting, which is presented by the Peekskill Business Improvement and District and the City of Peekskill on Saturday, December 1, 2018. The Stroll will start at 12noon and end 6pm.

Here is how you can participate: we will pair local restaurants, professional services and other businesses with a local artist who will set up an area of artisan gifts for sale inside your place of business. We have a number of artists who are looking to participate!  All you need to do is make sure your business is open and set aside space for the artist.

We are going to publish a punch card and map that you or the artist can punch when visitors come into your establishment.  At the end of the stroll, one winner who has made stops at 10 or more participating locations will be entered into a free raffle for a great prize.

If you are unable to host an artist, you can still participate: offer free coffee, cookies, snacks or provide promotional giveaways and special discounts.  Or do both!!

The showmobile will be set up near the Gazebo for live holiday performances from 4pm to 5pm by Doug Ferony, the Peekskill City Singers, Arts10566 and other special guests.  Plus, children can meet Santa and Frosty the Snowman.

We will be including the tree lighting and stroll in all of our Peekskill Makes Me Merry marketing. If you have any questions, please email us at peekskillbid1@gmail.com Thank you!
