2019 Peekskill BID Board of Directors Elections
Three property owner seats and one commercial tenant seat on the Board of Directors of the Peekskill Business Improvement District are up for election this year.
If you would like to submit your name for consideration and placement on the ballot, please send your resume/biography and a cover letter of interest, which must include your name, property address you own or rent within the BID, your email address and your phone number via email to: Elections and Nominations Committee c/o William Powers, Executive Director at peekskillbid1@gmail.com by 5pm on February 1, 2019.
Commercial tenants seeking a board position must be registered through the BID website at www.discoverpeekskill.com/membership-registration/ include either a copy of their signed lease or a letter signed by their landlord indicating that they are a commercial tenant.
Property owners seeking a board position will be compared to city property tax roll to determine eligibility.
The Election and Nominations Committee will compile a Director’s Slate of qualified nominees and create a ballot which will be mailed to eligible property owners and tenants. You must meet eligibility requirements in accordance with the BID bylaws in order to cast your vote for the representatives in your class (property owners vote for property owners and tenants vote for tenants).
Completed ballots can be returned by mail and must be postmarked by February 24th, 2019 or delivered in person at the annual meeting.
Members elected to the Board are expected to attend all of the monthly board meetings, participate actively on at least one committee, help sponsor other initiatives, attend grand openings and serve as ambassadors for the BID and its mission.
The Annual Meeting and Elections will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2019 (location to be announced).
