DESCRIPTION:The 9th Annual Peekskill Film Festival will be on Friday\, July
  26th and Saturday\, July 27th 2024. Supported by The Field Library and th
 e Paramount Hudson Valley Theater.\n\nThe Peekskill Film Festival was foun
 ded in 2015 to promote film literacy in the vibrant and historic Hudson Ri
 ver city of Peekskill\, NY\, and is an important opportunity to view new w
 orks by emerging filmmakers\, including features\, shorts\, documentaries\
 , animation and student work.\n\nThrough informative workshops\, and netwo
 rking opportunities\, The Peekskill Film Festival will also facilitate edu
 cational and career-oriented programming for students of film and filmmake
 rs. The festival hopes to introduce\, involve and immerse youth from under
 served communities of color to a world where they\, too\, can contribute a
 nd create.\n\nWe invite everyone to come out and support our homegrown tal
 ent and\, especially\, our youth in learning valuable tools in the art of 
 filmmaking. We also want people to take in our beautiful city with its vib
 rant community–including a thriving art\, food and nightlife scene. Peek
 skill also boasts top-notch cultural institutions such as the landmark Par
 amount Theater\,The Field Library\, Peekskill Museum and the Lincoln Depot
 . Our city is bordered by the tranquil Hudson River on the west and surrou
 nded by miles of parks and lakes. We welcome the world to come to Peekskil
 l to see all that we have going on!\n\nThe mission of the Peekskill Film F
 estival is to give established and emerging filmmakers\, writers\, actors 
 and producers a showcase to share their work in a festival setting\; provi
 de exposure to award winning films and performers who reflect the diversit
 y of the city of Peekskill\; promote film literacy through workshops and l
 ectures\; and give audiences a chance to see important\, overlooked\, and 
 often excluded works of film\,\n\nWe Start Dialogues. Create. Network!
