Deep Connection Through Collective (Movement) Practice: Groups For Black, BIPOC, Queer, Neurodivergent, and Disabled Femmes & Femme Healers+Leaders: Deep Connection Groups are radical, needs-first spaces of experimenting with being our rawest selves and caring for our needs. They are small, informal, playful, and celebratory groups that experiment with co-creating a space of deep connection, home, family, and emotional safety through collective (movement) practice, medicinal movement, art, and design. Justina leads groups through learning, sharing, or experimenting with individual and collective (movement) practices that give access to deep connection to our rawest selves, our personal history, our personal ancestry, our bodies’ needs, each other, communities, nature, universe, and future we are creating – our whole physical world. In the process, we develop and share our practices of creating spaces of deep connection. Groups create space for raw truth-telling and raw expression grounded in our current/recent personal feelings and experiences within our current sociopolitical context, emphasizing our current collective experience of grief, loss, death, suffering, conflict, tension, and transition. Groups are grounded in practices of emotional safety and nervous system safety, meaning participants have choice, agency, and flexibility with how they participate and are encouraged to disrupt, leave, pause, say no, express needs, and stay within their own levels of comfort. We collaboratively design each group based on the needs, interests, desires, and feelings of those participating.
